ABOUT US

EDRUS consist of our founder, Omar Khalil, and a collection of individuals committed to providing high quality products and services in residential, commercial, light industrial, urban planning and landscape architecture.

Our construction team includes two project supervisors and six carpenters. For work not performed by our own construction team we rely on several reliable sub-contractors with whom we have cultivated relationships with over the years.

Capability Statement

Edrus was founded with the intent to deliver our clients a quality product using the most effective methods.  The design/ build method brings together all elements of a project by allowing the architect to work in coordination with the client and the builder.   Essentially, its one team and one source of responsibility.  This collaborative method reduces delays, creates better communication, saves project costs and gives us the opportunity to efficiently manage the project from conception to the end of construction.

Design / Build Method vs. Traditional Method

At EDRUS our goal is to create sustainable designs and high performance buildings by using our fully integrated design and build team.  The intention of sustainable design is to “eliminate negative environmental impact completely through skillful, sensitive design“.  Buildings use resources (energy, water, raw materials, and etc.), generate waste (occupant, construction and demolition), and emit potentially harmful atmospheric emissions.

Our clients face a unique challenge to meet demands for new and renovated facilities that are accessible, secure, healthy and productive while minimizing any negative impacts on society, the environment, and the economy.  Our building designs result in net-positive benefits to all three areas.  In addition to including sustainable design concepts in new construction, we commonly encourage retrofitting existing buildings rather than building a new one which can often be more cost-effective.  For new construction projects we can conduct a whole building life-cycle assessment which will produce credible information on the environmental impact of the materials so that we can make more informed choices.
